In It Together is the UK’s largest family festival, hosting 100,000 attendees over the May bank holiday weekend.
With artists such as Anne-Marie, The Kooks, Chase & Status, UB40 and the Vamps headlining, In It Together catered for all genres and ages—providing family fun across a scorching weekend.
After struggling with WiFi connectivity in the previous year, In It Together came to Bytes Digital looking for a site-wide WiFi network across the festival.
A big focus of the brief was the all-important card machines and payment terminals. Over 70 vendors and several bars across the site, as well as production and crew areas required a stable internet connection for their card payments.
The brief included:
With such a huge site, spanning 140 acres, the WiFi connectivity had to be deployed on a large scale—including high volume areas as well as satellite areas on the outskirts of the festival site.
Such a large event required careful planning to ensure the WiFi network was capable of delivering high-quality connectivity to the important areas of the festival.
The rural location of In It Together, coupled with the high volume of people on site lead to a flooded and unusable mobile network. As such, Bytes Digital opted for satellite connectivity and fibre broadband connectivity.
Because of the sheer size of the network and reliance on WiFi connectivity, Bytes Digital deployed multiple engineers on site throughout the event, working to ensure vendors were regularly checked and online.
After months of careful planning, the Bytes Digital team rolled out a huge WiFi network to the In It Together festival—spanning acres of coverage with satellite sites.
Seamless card payments meant reduced queue times and a more efficient experience for attendees—keeping the drinks flowing and guests happy. The WiFi network also allowed staff and production teams at In It Together could communicate with one another effectively, keeping the site running smoothly.
After a mammoth setup and event, the In It Together team couldn’t have been happier, the WiFi “Really helped make the event a huge success!”
