The Romsey Show is organised by The Romsey Agricultural & Horse Show Society Ltd; a registered charity and it takes place in September at the Broadlands Estate in Romsey. It is one of the largest one-day country shows in the South and is run by a large team of dedicated volunteers.
The Show welcomes a wide range of local businesses and organisations, with shopping opportunities galore. The dedicated Food Zone at the show, offers a variety of food and drink from local producers using quality ingredients.
The Romsey Show’s history goes back to 1835 when the first show was held. Annually, the regular attendance is 20,000 people, which means that the 4G and cellular networks cannot cope with the number of users on site—and vendors struggle to take card payments. The show needs to have top quality connectivity to help it run smoothly. Romsey Show came to Bytes Digital for help.
Romsey approached Bytes only a few weeks before the start of the show, therefore it was all hands-on deck.
After some quick planning, our technical team specced, designed and implemented a site-wide mesh event WiFi network for Romsey Show. From getting Bytes involved, those that ran the show were able to enjoy the day comfortably with no worries as they could count on our Bytes system to provide them with:
“We used Bytes Digital at our show in September and were really impressed with the service. They were so efficient in getting the Wi-Fi installed and everything working on time. The team were friendly and helpful on show day with our volunteers. They also worked well with our other contractors to ensure the installation of various services across the site joined up.”
Due to limited planning time, it was a full team effort, but this collective effort resulted in another successful Romsey show.
The entire day ran smoothly, with all card machines functioning well, ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees and a stress-free day for all staff and volunteers. The Romsey site also maintained excellent communication, thanks to the reliable network that Bytes installed. This was a great relief for those involved in running the show, due to their previous experiences with poor connectivity at their past events.
